Electric bin lorries trialled
Blaby District Council has taken the exciting step of trailing an electric refuse and recycling bin lorry for waste collections.
The "Dennis E-Collect RCV" will be with the Council for one week and will collect on the same route as a normal diesel-powered lorry. On a single charge, it will pick up waste from around 1,300 properties during the day, before travelling... Read More »

Community Dig underway
An exciting Community Dig at Bouskell Park in Blaby hoping to uncover the popular park's hidden secrets is underway.
The Buried Bouskell project started in September 2020 as work on the park's Ice House began. Following completion of this first stage in May, the Community Dig will run until Sunday 04 July to find out more about Bouskell Park's history.

Cases update for the district
New Figures out from Leicestershire County Council have shown that the number of cases in the district stands at 294.5 per 100,000 people. This is a slight reduction from the 309.3 per 100,000 people last week, but numbers still remain higher than the current national average of 243.3.
