Special COVID-19 Newsletter
The latest information for you as of Tuesday 24 March
Please see below the latest information about our services and the help we'll be offering during this difficult time. We will be sending emails as and when we have more information available. The Coronavirus page of the website will also be regularly updated.
This is a challenging time for everyone and we are having to reduce services and redeploy staff to ensure that critical services for the district continue.
Contacting the Council
Our priority is to respond to those with urgent need, our Customer Services team will be prioritising phone and email contact. If you have a non-essential enquiry please do not call the Council at this time, that way we can prioritise residents with urgent needs.
If you have a non-essential enquiry please visit our website for service information in the first instance to find what you need.
Suspended Services
A list of currently affected services is available below:
- Most physical activity programmes
- Bulky Item collections (existing orders will be collected)
- Leisure Centres (see below for more info)
Waste collections
We are working hard to ensure refuse and recycling collections are maintained. The dedicated page has more information about our current arrangements, and will be updated if there are any changes.
Supporting our vulnerable residents
This is one of our top priorities and we are working with the County Council and health partners to ensure we have a clear picture of people in the district who need support whilst self-isolating.
Our Community Hub will be ready soon. If you would like to volunteer to help in your community please register your interest using our form.
If you are isolating and need support please fill in our online form.
Please be aware of coronavirus-related scams, including ads for protective products, companies who will help you get refunds and unknown links/emails. More information is on the Get Safe Online website.
Parks and Public Conveniences
At the time of this email our parks in the district remain open except for the play areas and play equipment, which have been closed to help social distancing. We are urging everyone to follow government guidelines on social distancing to make sure everyone can enjoy fresh air responsibly. We are monitoring this daily.
A list of our parks is available on the website.
The toilets in Blaby Town Centre have been closed until further notice.
Leader's Message
